How To : Hide Ribbon button On A Form Using Java Script In Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011

Introduction: Every ribbon button  in an entity is found at 3 locations :

  • Form
  • Homepage Grid
  • Sub Grid

-This article will shows how to hide a ribbon button using java script in form only (not including Homepage Grid & sub Grid)

-To Hide any ribbon in the form , do the following steps.

  1. Open any record => press F12 = > Select the mouse icon.

  2. Select the button you want to hide , lets say you want to hide the assign button.

  3. Catch the ID  of the button and use in the following code which you will run  at the event of the form load

    code:

    function HideRibbonButton(ButtonID) {
    var intervalId = window.setInterval(
    function () {
    if (window.top.document.getElementById(ButtonID) != null) {
    window.clearInterval(intervalId);

    //Top Menu has loaded
    window.top.document.getElementById(nameOfButton).style.display = ‘none’;
    }
    }, 500);
    }
